THE JOURNEY
A Career Built on
Determination
Three chapters. One constant: the drive to be better, no matter the obstacle.

CHAPTER 01
Against the Odds
Despite going undrafted in the LHJMQ, Darick's determination led him to call Chicoutimi directly — earning a camp invitation where he proved his worth and secured a spot on the roster. Over three seasons, he wore the jerseys of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, the Quebec Remparts, and the Montreal Junior, developing the relentless work ethic that defines him to this day.
CHAPTER 02
From Junior to Pro
In his final junior year with the Quesnel Millionaires of the BCHL, Darick earned the title of Most Dedicated Player of the Year and finished as the team's top playoff scorer. Transitioning to the professional ranks, he joined the Akwesasne Warriors of the FHL and clinched a league championship in his debut season. His talent then caught the attention of the ECHL, where he donned the jersey of the Cincinnati Cyclones, the Orlando Solar Bears and later the Evansville Icemen. During an NHL lockout year, Darick returned to the FHL and became the league's top goal scorer — an astonishing 27 goals in 27 games.

CHAPTER 03

Building the Next Generation
Since 2016, Darick has channeled his years of experience into coaching and mentoring aspiring players. His passion for developing talent led him to serve as Assistant Coach of the Bonnyville Pontiacs in the AJHL, eventually stepping up as Interim Head Coach during the 2023-24 season. He is now the Head Coach of the Campbellton Jr A Tigers of the MHL — and through D Hockey Coach, he works directly with players of all ages to build the habits, skills and confidence needed to reach their goals.

THE D.H.C. METHOD

“I know what it takes to make it against the odds. I coach every player like I was coached by life — with honesty, high standards, and genuine belief in what they can achieve.”

Darick Ste-Marie — D Hockey Coach
Coaching Built on
Three Pillars
D.H.C. isn't just a name — it's the foundation of every session, every drill, every conversation with a player and their family.
D
Determination
Every great player starts with a decision — to never stop when it gets hard. Darick went undrafted, called his own shot, and earned his spot. He coaches players to find that same inner drive.
H
Habits
Success on the ice is built in the gym, the hallway, the offseason. Darick's training methodology focuses on building the daily habits that compound into elite performance over time.
C
Confidence
Technical skill alone won't carry a player far. Darick works on the mental side of the game — building genuine, unshakeable confidence that shows up on ice in the biggest moments.
